THE IRISH STATE TRIALS.

Through the kindness of Captain Denison we have been favoured with Irish Journals to the 29th October. Messrs. M'Manus, O'Donohou, andMeagher, were tried and found guilty. On Monday, October 23rd, they were placed in the dock and sentenced to be executed, after which their heads to be taken off, and their bodies to be quartered. The Commission then adjourned to the sth December for trial of the remainder of the prisoners. Mr. John Dillon had made his escape from Ireland. The Lord-Lieutent of Ireland had allowed several of the untried State prisoners out on bail.

Embarkation of H.M. 96th Regiment. — The General Heuitt, Eden, and Lord Auckland, have been chartered by the Government for the transfer of troops hence to the East Indies. The embarkation will, it is calculated, take place between the sth and Bth of the present month. The General Hewitt is a well known Indiaman of 900 tons burden, drawing 27 feet, and was on the 31st uit. lying off George Town. Her admirable sailing qualities together with the vast available means of applying her accom< modation, have recommended her to the present engagement. On the departure of the military from Launceston, only one Commissariat officer will be retained in that district, but Mr. Windeatt will be continued as clerk to the department. — Hob. Guard.
