Sib, — I request you will be good enough to insert in your Journal of to-morrow the following copy of a letter which I have written to Mr. Woodward, as Secretaiy to the Wellington Savings Bank. I am, sir, Your's very respectfully, Wm. Hickson. (Copt.) Wellington, 2nd February, 1849. Sib, — I beg to tender my resignation of the appointment of Honorary Manager to the Wellington Savings Bank, as I cannot permit my name to be disgraced by its being in any way connected with a social institution in which politics are so unwarrantably introduced. "' I am, sir, Your's most respectfully, (Signed) Wm. Hickson. Mr. Jonas Woodward, Secretary to the Wellington Savings Bank.
