'PHOENIX."

THE IMPORTED ENTIRE HORSE Phoenix, imported by Mr. Hill, of Sydney, and sold to Mr. Rouse, of Box Hill, near Windsor, for -800 Guineas, and now sold to Mr. R. Jenkins, only or a change of blood. Phoenix is a beautiful bay, with black points, and full of bone, stands 16 hands 1 inch high, with superior action, and free from natural defects. Phcenix was got by Young Phantom, dam by Admiral, whose sire was General Benefit; Young Phantom, by Phantom, winner of the Derby in 1811, and sire of Cedric and Cobweb, winners of the Derby and Oaks in 1824, and of Middleton, winner of the Derby in 1825, dam Emetine, winner of the Claret in 1821, by Waxy, sire of Webb, Wofull, Wire, Whisker, Whalebone, Phctnuc obtained the premium at Beverly in 1840, given by the East Riding Agricultural Society, to the best Stallion for getting Coach Horses and Hunters, beating five others. Captain Apperly, who was for several years lin New South Wales, purchasing Horses for the H.E.I. C-S., preferred the colts of Phanix'* get to any in the Colony. TO STAND THIS SEASON, At H. Wintringham's Stables, LombardStreet. Terms — Single Mare £3. 3s. An allowance will be made for two or more Mares. Gentlemen are invited to inspect this Horse before making any arrangements for their Mares, as the Proprietor feels assured they will at once give the palm of superiority over any Horse hitherto imported into this Colony. Caitor, Esq., dam Fanny by Grey Orwell, a thorough- Bred Horse. Providence is a Bay Horse, with black points, four years old, stands sixteen hands one inch high, of perfect symmetry, good action, and fine temper. Providence will also stand, at Mr. Burcham'a, River Hutt, every Tuesday during the Season ; and at Mr. John Wade's, Porirua, every Thursday, and return to his own stables the day following. Terms — Three Guineas, groomage included
