Sydney Shipping. The Brig Bee, hence 25 th July, arrived August 9 The Government Brig Victoria completed her repairs and was launched from the slip August 9. The Schooner Despatch, hence 25th July, arrived August 8. The Schooner Sarah Ann, from Otakou22d July, arrived August 8. The Schooner Comet, from Nelson sth arrived August 17. The Schooner Star of China sailed for Taranaki August 14. The Subrdon, from Port Nicholson, arrived August 18. . 1 - , H. M. Steamer Acheron arrived at Sydney 18th August. She left Plymouth on the 21st January ; arrived at Madeira on the 30th of that month ; sailed from thence on the 4th February ; arrived at Rio de Janeiro on the Ist March; sailed from thence on the sth April, and arrived &t the Cape of Good Hope on the 2nd May. While at the Cape, Mrs. Stokes, the wife of her Commander, (who had been allowed, although contrary to the rules of the service, to take out his wife and family) who was in a very precarious state of health, died, and was buried in the cemetery at Simon's Bay. The Acheron sailed from the Cape of Good Hope on the 15th June ; arrived at King George's Sound on the 21st July ; and sailed from thence on the 9th inst. From the Cape of Good Hope to King George's Sound, she was under steam only five days, and from thence to Sydney only a day and a half.— S, M. Herald, August 19.
