Sydney Shipping. I The Calypso has experienced very bad weather on her passage from Port Nicholson, and had the misfortune to lose her fore-jard on Thursday last, during a heavy gale from the southward. A mail for Madeira, the Cape of Good Hope, Sydney, and New Zealand, by H. M. Steamer Acheron, Captain Stokes, was to close on the 30th December. She is to bring out a number of cases, and fig, mulberry, peach, and numerous other fine trees and plants of various sorts, with the seeds and germs of clover, grasses of many sorts, from Garroway & Moves' nursery at Bristol. The Mount Stuart Elphinsione, having convicts on board, went down the river on the 29th, for New South Wales, taking out the following oflicers and men : — Lieutenant Paul, of the 65th Regiment of Foot, stationed in New Zealand; Lieutenant Anderson, of the 9fith Regiment, stationed in New South Wales ; and three sergeants, three corporals, and fifty privates of the 99tU Foot, to join the head-quarters of the Regiment in New South Wales.— S.
