The brig 'lyrone arrived at Singapore on the 12th July, having left Bruni on the 30th June, at which time the Sultan and his people weie busily engaged in hunting down the piiates driven on shore by the" Nemesis. They had killed twenty-nine in the jungle in the course of the pursuit, while eighteen who were taken alive and brought to Bruni were formally executed. From forty to fifty captives of the pirates from Lingin, Banca, &c, had been brought in and were to be forwarded to Singapore. A tonnage duty of one dollar per ton is now paid by vessels, instead of the duties on goods, &c. This is in pursuance of the provisions of the treaty signed by the Sultan, on the occasion of Mr. Brookes last visit. ,The H. C. war steamer Nemesis had gone to the new colony of Labuan.
