IT IS PROPOSED, ON THE ARRIVAL of H. M. S. Calliope, to give a dinner to Captain Stanley, R. N., ouhis dep-rture from this settlement. Tickets may be had from the Committee, or at Barrett's Hotel. AT a Meeting of the Committee for giving an entertainment to Captain Stanley, it was proposed and carried unanimously, that in conse quence of the general feeling expressed in favor of giving a Ball instead of a dinner, that a Ball be given on the arrival of the Calliope. WELLINGTON ACADEMY.

MR, GRACE will open his Institution upon Monday, 11th October, in the commodious premises at the corner of Willisstreet and Manners-street. The 'course of instiuction will comprise Reading, Writing, Arithmetic, English Grammar, History, Geography, rhe Greek and Latin Classics, and the portion of Mathematical Science which is preliminary to the studies of a University. The English language will receive a laige share of atreniij>n, as being essential to every pupil in after life, and as forming the basis of every subsequent a. quirement. Information in Art and Science will be communicated from time to time to those attending this Academy, which, it is hoped, they will find very useful to them in their future career. Hours of attendance — Forenoon from 9 to 12, Afternoon from 1 to 4. Fees. Reading, Is. per week. Reading and Writing, Is6d per week. Reading, Writing, & Arithmetic, 23. per week.
