MR, GRACE will open this Institution upon Monday, 11th October, in the commodious premises at the corner of Willisstreet and Manners-street. The course ofinttruction will comprise Reading, Writing, Arithmetic, English Grammar, History, Geography, the Greek and Latin Classics, and the portion of Mathematical Science which is preliminary to the studies of a University. The English language will receive a large share of attention, as being essential to every pupil in after life, and as forming the basis of every subsequent acquirement. Information in Art and Science will be communicated from time to time to those attending this Academy, which, it is hoped, they will find very useful to them in their future career. English Shipping. H. M.~Steamer Driver, from New Zealand, arrived at Portsmouth on the 13th, and Woolwich on the 18th May, haying made the passage in 103 days. The Ralph Bernal, from New Zealand, arrived at Gravesend on the 11th May, and entered outwards again for the same destination on the 18th. The Trafalgar was to sail for Sydney on the Ist July, being the post office packet for that month . The Waltner Castle had been again laid on for this port, to sail early in September, and we are informed that when the Penyard Park sailed, nearly the whole of her accommodations were engaged. Among the intended passengers were General Wynyard (the new Comrrander of the Forces in -this colony;, and the Bishop of Melbourne and party. — Sydney Morning Herald, Sept. 14.
Sydney Shipping. The Eleanor Lancaster and Penyard Park — The former of these vessels which arrived yesterday morning from London, has made an excellent passsage of one hundred and one, and the latter an average passage of one hundred and fourteen days. The Eleanor Lancaster is the post office packet for June, and has brought a large mail, consisting of twenty-two bags, the usual size. Both vessels have experienced very adverse winds off this coa3t, and the former was compelled to come round the island of Van Diemen's Land. They have not spoken any vessels connected with these colonies on the passage out. — Ibid.
