RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT. Wellington, 29th September, 1847.
Before Henry St. Hill, Esq., R.M. Kaitipu, an aboriginal native of New Zealand, was charged by Kopari, also an aboriginal native, with an assault, and with having maliciously broken the door of the ware of the said Kopari on the 20th instant. The Assessors under the Resident Magistrates Ordinance were Te Teira Whetu and Moturoa. The evidence against the defendant being conclusive, the Assessors with the concurrence of the Resident Magistrate fined him five shillings and costs.
