The Wanderer had a passage of nineteen days from Sydney. She was four days in Queen Charlotte's Sound, where the Dyson had also arrived previous to the Wanderer's leaving.
Sydney Shipping. The Juno Steamer sailed for Auckland, June 14 The William Hill, Browning, from Port Nicholson the 8th June, arrived the 24th June. The Emma, Osborn, from Auckland the Ist June, arrived the 29th June. The Pestonjee Bomanjee had cleared for Auckland June 26th, but owing to some detention, the embarkation of troops did not take place before the 30th. The following is the list of passengers : Mr. Eyre (Lieutenant-Governor of New Zealand) and servant, Pomari and Peri Kawau, (New Zealanders) Major Bridge, Mrs. Bridge and child, Captain Thompson. Lieutenants Herbert and Edwards, Ensign Garstin, Quarter-Master Kirby, Assistant Surgeon Bannatyne, D. A. C. G.
Solway, 174 rank and file, with 53 women, and 79 children of the 58th Regiment. The Bee had arrived in Sydney before the Wanderer sailed.
English Shipping. The Beulah, (Post office Packet) 578 tons, Strubon was to sail on the Ist March. The Protector, 372 tons, Hunter, was to sail for New Zealand on the 10th March. The Malabar, 78 guns, and another line of battle ship, were also to sail for New Zealand early in March.
