Horned Cattle 1,591 Sheep 10,022 Horses 107 Goats 1,029 Pigs 2,866 Head of Poultry 5,934 The return of stock for 1 845 stated the number of horned cattle to be 1,238, sheep 7,473, horses 82, goats 453, pigs 2,409, poultry, 4,160. The sheep imported during the year exceeded the number exported only by 100; allowing therefore 1,200 to have been slaughtered by the butcher, the natural increase will be something about 50 per cent, on the whole of the sheep in the settlement.
