Secretary's office, Wellington, sth March, 1847. rfIENDERS in Duplicate, will be received JL at this Office, until 12 o'clock of SATURDAY, the 13th instant, from persons desirous of furnishing the Local Government with Two Horses or Mares. THE UNDERSIGNED being about toleave very shortly for England, begs to acquaint the Public that he will be glad to take charge of parcels, &c, for London, or any part of Great Britain or Ireland, on payment of a charge to cover freight, &c. ; and on his arrival in London will see that such parcels are forwarded to their respective addresses without delay. He will also be ready to execute orders for goods to be shipped either from Sydney or England at a small commission ; the particulars can be arranged with the Undersigned. Messrs. Johnson & Moore, Mr. J. M'Beth, Willis Street, and Mr. J. M'Beth, Pipitea,have kindly permitted parcels to be left at their Stores. All mattets must be arranged before the 12th of March. R, J. On the sth February, in childbed, after an illßess of thirty-five hours, in the 24th year of her age, Louisa, wife of Isaac Shaw, chief constable at Akaroa. She was a most exemplary wife, a kind mother, and a very charitable neighbour. Her loss will be severely felt, particularly by the rising generation, as she established and continued the first and only school for Europeans in that settlement.
