Sydney Shipping.

The Sydney. —This vessel, which arrived quite unexpectedly yesterday morning from London, is the Post -office packet for October, the Midlothian having been taken off the berth; She has been 105 days only on the passage, and has made the quickest passage home and out of any vessel that has yet left this colony, having been absent from Sydney only eight months and twenty-seven days. In the English papers received by her, we perceive no other arrivals from this colony than have already been reported; but we are informed by one of her passengers that the General Hewett, hence the 19th June, was reported as having 'arrived in the Channel just as they sailed. The Sydney has spoken no vessels connected with these colonies on the passage out. Her mail consists of sixteen bags the usual size. —Australian, Jan. 28. The American Ship Robert Pulsford, 406 tons, Caldwell, from Boston 21st October, arrived at Sydney February 4. The Ship Urgent, 408 tons, Tucker, sailed for London, February 6. The schooner Velocity has proceeded to the South Sea Islands, for the purpose of bringing up a number of natives.

Extension of the Goodwin Sands.—ln consequence of the extraordinary extension of the Goodwin Sands in the direction of the " Bunt Head,''it has been found necessary to move the light vessel half a mile farther to the westward, in order to cover the shoal; and the buoy that nrarks the extreme end of the Bunt Head 60 fathoms further in a south-westerly direction. A shoal has also sprung up in the Gull Stream, in the direct track of the navigation. —Falmouth Packet Oct. 10
