AUCKLAND. [From the New Zealander.]
The Auckland Anniversary was celebrated on the ,29th. January with races and other amusements. In the afternoon a large native tea party was entertained by his Excellency on the lawn near Government House when 300 natives were regaled with a substantial meal of bread, butter, gooseberry jam, and tea. When his Excellency and Mrs. Grey appeared on the lawn, they simultaneously arose, and made the air resound with their cheering, and the hearty welcome with whrch they received them. Several of the Church of England and Wesleyan clergymen, and many of the respectable inhabitants, were assembled to witness the interesting entertainment. The Governor afterwards delivered to them a most excellent and appropriate address, and the meeting ended with a good English huzza, in which natives and Europeans united, for his Excellency.
