I Tbe Sheriff's Office Bill was amended arid passed in Committee ; and the Destitute Persons' Relief Bill was read a first time. The Governor laid upon the table a Bill to provide for the Administration of Justice in certain cases.

Monday, October .12. Returns of the number of acres of land purchased from the natives, were ordered to be laid upon the table. The Prisons Bill was further considered in Committee ; the Supreme Court Bill was resfd a third time and passed ;, ,and the Bill for~the relief of Destitute Persons was, read a~secon3 time. . s Tne Governor laid upon the table a return of the Sheriff's Fees.

The Prisons' Bill was further considered in Committee, and a Bill to permit wine foe the use of military officers, to be imported duty free was read a first time. His Excellency laid upon the table a statement cf the assets and liabilities of the colony.

Tuesday, October 20. The Destitute Persons' Relief Bill, and the Weights and Measures Bill was read a third time and passed. ; His Excellency informed the Council that on the following day he would lay the estimates on the table.
