Remarks.— A White Flag at Mast Head denotes a sail in sight; when the class is ascertained, the descriptive Signal will be hoisted at the Yard Arm. English vessel of war, Union Jack at Mas Head! 7 Foreign vessel of war, Union Jack a* Halt Head,, with white Pendant. Government brig, white Pendant under descriptive Signal. When a vessel is at anchor, either inside 01 outside the Heads, the flag is lowered to half mast.
