Remarks.— A White Flag at Mast Head denotes a"saU in sight ;; -whenrthe class is ascertained, the descriptive Signal will be hoisted at the* Yard Arm. English vessel of war, Union Jack at Mat Head. Foreign vessel of war, Union Jack at Mart Head, with white Pendant. Government brig, white Pendant under de-

scriptive Signal. When a vessel is at anchor, either inside oi outside the Heads, the flag is lowered to half mast. A vessel in distress, or on shore, descriptive signal half mask. *». Fore and aft schooner, a^triangjkf hollow in the .centre.
