ORIGINAL CORRESPONDENCE.

We have received a long communication from our Wanganui correspondent, vindicating the accuracy of the statements forwarded by him to the Spectator, -which had heen called in question by a letter published by Mr. Wilson. The desire which the settlers of Wanganui have recently shewn to abandon that settlement, and to remove to some locality " where the chance of native interference is diminished, having already suffered severely from this cause," would of itself appear to be a sufficient confirmation of the statements of our correspondent. We may add the following statement extracted from our correspondent's letter signed by thirty-two settlers of that district : — " We, the undersigned inhabitants of Wanganui, having read over certain statements referring to robberies committed in this place by Maories, and contained in (he New Zealand Spectator of April 18th last, unhesitatingly declaie them to be true." The rest of our Correspondent's communication is . of so purely a personal nature that we do not see any advantage that would attend its publication.
