Foreign vessel of war, -Union Jack at Matt Head, with white Pendant: " * ~ Government brig, white Pendant under descriptive Signal. ' ' When a vessel is at anchor, either inside at outside the Heads, the flag is lowered to halt mast. A vessel in distress, or on shore, descriptive signal half mast. Fore and aft schooner, a triangle, hollow in the centre.
