From the Nelton Examiner.
It is slid that the present Colonial Treasurer is to retire immediately, and that the appointment ,will be conferred on Mr. LandCommissioner' Spain. We have also heard that all the police magistrates in the settlements »re to be removed : this looks like the first step towards municipal government, but • we are sure Captain Grey will do nothing finally before visiting each place. ' ' - The rebels at the Bay not. having acceded . to Captain Gjrey's terms, he had sent thither fresh reinforcements of troops, seamen, and volunteers from the militia; and -hostilities were to be recommenced immediately. Poraare, the late loyal ally and fiiend of Captaiu Fitzroy* has changed sides and -gone over to the rebels, fortifying, himself in a a nearly inaccessible pa. Kawiti's pa is also desctibed as almost impregnable, and its defences more perfect than in that which Hfcki j evacuated.*
