This part contains 40 species and varieties, and about 60 specimens, together with a printed title page, and index of English and scientific names. The whole are dried in a peculiar manner. Another part, now in progress, will complete the series. New Zealand is more celebrated for the beauty and variety of its ferns than any other ipart of the world. They consequently become one of the most acceptable presents to friends in Europe. Subscribers' names may be sent either to the Author, Hawkeshead, River Hutt; Mr. Moore, or Mr. Lyon, Lambton Quay, Wellington; where the work may be seen. Early subscribers will insure the best copies. January 10, 1846.
