December 24. — Brigantine [Scotia, 68 tons, Ward, from New Plymouth, with oil and bone. December 26.— Schooner Sarah Jane, 30 tons, Svrann, from Nelson, with sundries. December 26. — Brig Nelson, 153 tons, Sedgwick, cia Nelson.
DEPARTURES. December 24.— Schooner Ocean, 30 tons. Ferguson, for Chatham Islands, with sundries. December 25. — Schooner Shamrock, 85 tons, Browning, for Sydney. Same day. — Schooner Susannah Ann, 62 tons, •Hensley. for Hikolaki, with sundries. December 26. — Schooner Sisters, 20 tons, Maori, 'for Akaroa.
The schooner' Osprey, Hunt, arrived at'Nel«on on the 28th November from Auckland. The brigantine Comet, Cork, sailed from Nelaon for Sydney on the 23d November. The Palmyra arrived at Adelaide on the 21st of September, after a passage of 31 days. The Star of China from Tahiti, airived at Auckland on the V2th November. The William Hyde was expected to leave daily for England when the Otprey sailed. Her cargo consists of 64 spars, 74 tons kuuii gum, 100 tons manganese, 12 bales of wool. The whaling barque * Caernarvon had a very narrow escape from being burnt on the 30th November. A fire havingteen discovered from the shore, severaf boats immediately put off, and •ir reaching "lie-vessel it was found to "have commenced in the galley, but from what cause was unknown, asihere wasno person on board at the time.
