Bethune & Hunter's 3tores, l an4 sentenced to two years' imprisonment, with hard labour. Thomas M'Lcughlin, private 96th Regt., was found .guilty of larceny, and sentenced to twelve months' imprisonn ent, with hard laboar. " * ' Jbt Hipu, a native, was tried and found guilty of having stolen a piece of print from Mr. Lyon's store about twelve months since, trad sentenced (under the Native Exemption Ordinance) to pay eight pounds, or four times ihi value of the goods stolen. .The fine was paid for the prisoner. • The prisoner bad esfrom custody amt Was recaptured only a fortnight before trial.
