THOSE MORNING DRUMS ! A LAMENT ON THE DISBANDING OF THE MILITIA.

The two first verses are from the Auckland 7wraes(the second verse being slightly altered); we have added a third verse, to complete the parody.— Ed. N.Z.B. Those morning drums ! those morning drums • Alas! their warning never comes, To wake us now by early light, And teach us all to march and fight. Alas ! those drums ! their voice is run, Their rapid voice of " Row dow" done ; ft or will the clear and mellow horn Arouse the echoes of the morn. The glories of parade are gone, Our swords no more we'll buckle on ; The men to drill no longer come, At sound of horn or morning drum.*

• The drum is used to call the Militia together at Auckland, and the bugle at Wellington.
