The Sister, Capt. H. Hay, left Sydney for Taranaki and this port on the Bth ult. The barque Elizabeth has been chartered by Mr. Dunn, and was to leave Sydney on the 14 th via Jervis' Bay ; she will have 1,000 sheep and six horses for this place. We learn that, at Brown's whaling station atTaranaki, a large whale was caught lately, yielding nine tons ; at Barrett's station, one humpback only had been caught. The Sisters, schooner, had arrived at Hobart Town from Manilla with sugar ; she is to be laid on for this port. H.M.S. North Star was to leave Sydney for Auckland on the 12th ult.
