SOUTH AUSTRALIA.

By the Falco, which arrived on Sunday from Adelaide the 4th inst., we have received papers to that date. The abstract of the receipts of the Government of South Australia, had just been published, for the quarter ending 31st March last.

The Legislative Council were summoned to meet, for the despatch of business, on Monday, the 23d June next. The South Australian Register remarks, with reference to the coming session, as follows :—: — " Of the nature of the business to be transacted, we are yet uninformed. Of course, the merchants will bestir themselves in reference to the port dues, and the auctioneers in reference to the duty on sales by auction. The meeting of Council has long been anxiously looked for, and will, we have no doubt, give a fillip to the daily increasing revival of trade and commerce in the colony." The Isabella Watson was about to sail for London with the following cargo — 16,000 bushels of wheat, 200 tons gum, 50 tons copper ore, from the Montacute mine, about 100 bales wool, &c. With the exception of wool, the articles of export above enumerated, were little dreamt of three or four years ago. The highest price for the best wheat is quoted at 2s. 6d. per bushel; and fine flour 17s. per 200fb. We lately mentioned (says the Southern Australian of the 2d instant) that a new mine had been found to the southward. As we believe it is no longer a secret, we may mention that it is on the fine estate of Alfred Hallet, Esq,, Worthing, beyond O'Halloran Hill. The ldfo has been, examined to a considerable depth by miners, who have declared that it is extremely valuable.

The total receipts were £8,786 1111 And expenditure 6,689 16 5 Thus showing a surplus 0f. ... £2,096 15 6 over the expenditure.
