The Times of December 2nd, says " The D&dalus, 20 guns, Captain M'Quae, is hourly expected at Devonport from Woolwich to receive advance. Upwards of 4 cwt. of silver coin is to be sent out in her to Auckiand, New Zealand." The Sultana from London to Sydney spoke the Dadalm, she will have reached Auckland before this. The Tyne was advertised to sail on the 20th December, for Wellington, Nelson, New Edinburgh, and Auckland. The Barque Raymond left Sydney for London on the 21st March. Star of China may be expected hourly, she was to sail from Sydney on the 12th inst. The Augustus Barque, Rolle, from Nelson, with 50 passengers, arrived at Adelaide on the 6th March. Sir George Seymour from London to Hobart Town, spoke the Falco Lynn 18th January, off the Cape, from Boston 20th November, for New Zealand. The brig Guide. — This vessel was sold by Mr. Samuel Lyons, on Wednesday last, at his mart. There was a spirited competition, but the \essel was eventually knocked down to Mr. Dalton for the sum of j£27o. — Sydney Morning Chronicle. An iron bark, the Richard Cobden, has been launched in London. Her extreme length is 147 feet ; her breadth is 23 feet 8 inches ; the depth 19 feet 6 inches ; and the thickness of the iron plate at bottom is three-fourths of an inch ; she is about 400 tons register, and 800 tons burden. Her owners are the Coalbrookdale Iron Company, and she is intended for the China trade. — English Paper. An ingenious mechanic of Newcastle has invented a harpoon gun, for the purpose of capturing whales in the South Seas, by which k is calculated that the harpoon will be discharged so that it will bury itself up to the hilt in the body of the whale at & distance of 120 feet.
