| Sir, —As many people may not be aware of : the kinds of timber best suited for export, I beg to inform parties proposing to ship by the Caledonia or other vessels, that as long as I remain in the colony I shall be happy to render them any service, gratis, in the selection of timber for the home markets, being aware that unless consignments are chosen with great judgment, they will tend more to injure.than to advance the future trade of. the colony in that article.
