NEWS BY THE BARQUE "CALEDONIA."
We stop the press to announce tbe arrival, this morning, of the long expected Caledonia. She left Plymouth on the 24th August ; the following are the passengers :—: — Mr. and Mrs. Nattrass and daughter; Mr. and Mrs. Nortlrwood and daughter, Rev. Mr. Inglis, Mrs. Inglis, Mr. T. Heale, Mr. Bannister, and several in the steerage. Mr, Natrass has brought out with him a Flax Machine and several practical flax dressers, to be followed by about 50 more in tbe Slmns Castle, sent ont by a Company formed under the auspices of several wealthy and influential gentlemen counected with New j Zealand, Mr. Heale (late of Heale, Sinclair, & Co.) was one of the witnesses for the Local Government, examined before the House of Commons Committee. The Settlement of New Edinburgh is to be resumed with fresh vigour. To the prompt attention and kindness of Mr. L. Natrass, we are enabled to lay before our readers the Rssolutions of the House of Commons Committee on New Zealand affairs.
