HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.
The Exhibition was held on Tuesday last, ! the 17ih inst., in the Odd Fellows' Hall, ! recently erected behind the Aurora Tavern. The Commute.' have to thank the Society for their kindness in granting them the use of this room, and also Mr. Davis for his exertions in preparing and decorating it. We believe the Society has handsomely offered this room for future exhibitions, an offer of which the Committee will gladly avail themselves, as the building is admirably adapted for their purpose. The show of flowers was certainly the best we have yet witnessed, whether regard be had to the beauty and excellence of the individual specimens, or to the great variety of choice and rare plants exhibited. We regretted to see so few bouquets, and would remind the members that, even if they are unable to send bouquets for competition, yet they would materially aid in the decorating of the room, if they sent whatever flowers they had in their possession. The vegetables, whether owing to the backwardness of the season, or to our ilutt friends' not having sent their nsual contributions'; were decidedly inferior to those exhibited" oh previous occasions.
