Hawksbead, River Him, Nov. 15, ! 1844. ; MiuEditoe, — I avail myself of the Wet.- J lingtoH Spectator to request the following information through the same medium, froto auch of'your correspondents as may be interested in the statistics of the colony.
" Ist. The number and names of the actual settlers, novr or lately-lining vtrlthift'th'e districts of Port Nicholson add Wstlganui, Who have purchased their land of' the Company ; and, (if possible) the number of sections they nominally hold. 2nd. The quantity, and estimated- value of flour and wheat, imported into the colony, and consumed therein, for as long a petiod as possible, distinguishing each period. Your most obedient servant, W. S.
