We have received files of the Sydney Morning Herald, to October 12, from which we have extracted the latest Indian and English news. Sir James Dowling, the Chief Justice died on the 27th September. He is succeeded by Justice Stephens. Business appears to be reviving. The price realized for 8,000 sheep without stations, was 6m. 9d. per head, cash, although n*t warranted sound. Specie. — The Abberton had arrived at Port Phillip, having on board twenty-five thousand sovereigns for the Union Bank of Australia.
