The amount of Customs duties collected at this port for the week ending March 7 was as under:—

Quotations for imported goods have been without change during the past week, although the large accessions to our stocks which have recently been received have not been without their effect in prices, which continue low and unsatisfactory. Butter in kegs is difficult to move off at 8d to for prime samples, while questionable lots are sold at 2d to 3d per lb under the hammer ; bacon and hams, new cure, are in fair demand at 8d to 9d for clo'h-packed at Canterbury ; cheese, large stocks, at 7d to 7J-d per lb ; flour, few transactions have come under notice, but we hear of sales at £l3 for guaranteed brands of Oamaru mills. Grain—Oats, in lair supply at 4s to 4s 3d per bushel; maize, 5s 3d to 5s 6d ; bran and sharps, unaltered ; potatoes, £5 per ton.
