THE VICTORIAN POLITICAL CRISIS.

We are indebted to Captain Millman, of the barque IVTalay, from Hobarton, for files of the Mercury to the 14th instant. In their tele Graphic columns they give some details of the progress of the political crisis in Victoria, of which we have otherwise heard but the termination, namely, the demolition of the «stonewall” and the obtaining of supplies. The following telegrams appear iu the Mercury : Melbourne, February 10. The “ stonewall ” policy is in process of demolition. Mr. Berry’s amendment on bir James McCulloch’s motion was negatived. No other amendment can be proposed. The House is still sitting, and strangers are excluded. The greatest excitement continues. Mr. W. Cook, the “stonewall” candidate, has been elected for the East Bourke Boroughs by a majority of 141. February 11. Sir James McCulloch’s resolution (the new Standing Order) was carried by 41 to 20. The House, after a sitting of fifty-six hours, adjourned until Tuesday next, when supplies will be granted. . A large crowd assembled in Parliament yard last night, but it was quietly dispersed by the police. , . ~ „ In reply to a deputation, his Excellency the Governor declined to dismiss Ministers, pointino- out that they possess the confidence of the majority in Parliament.
