Auckland Telegkams.—The following items appear in tbe " Otago Daily Times" of tbe 23rd instant:—" A rush has taken place on shares in Tookey's claim, which is reported to hare struck the Caledonian lead. They are now selling at £44. The steamer Comerang, which has been chartered by a number of speculators, left suddenly. They are supposed to have gone to Sydney to buy Tookey's shares in Melbourne. An attempt was made to * salt' a crushing from- the Sailer Prince claim at the Thames, four sovereigns and four shillings being discovered in the stamper box with the quartz. Mr Martin Sholl reports that Caledonian shares have been offered at £BO, Thames at £lB, Tokatea at £4 2s 6d, Nonpareil at £3 10s, All Nations at £4. Tookey's shares find buyers at £42. Other shares are dull." A portion of this news appears in our own telegrams of yesterday —four days later than the date of its appearance in Dunedin !
