THE MINISTRY.
Mr William Reeves was on Monday sworn in as a member of the Cabinet. As affecting. Middle Island interests the selection of a gentleman of Mr Reeves's ability is peculiarly a matter for congratulation, but the appointment will not be advantageous to the Ministry in this dn-ection only. In the deliberations of the Executive Mr Reeves will bring to bear those powers of reasoning and shrewd business habits so prominently marked in his political and private life in his own province. Mr Reeves took no very prominent part in the proceedings of the last session, making only one speech of any note — that on the cereal duties. As a speaker Mr Reeves's utterances are thoughtful, forcible, and convincing, and have stamped him as one of the weighty members of the House. ' The selection is one that will add much to the strength of the Ministry, and we venture to assert will meet with unanimous approval throughout the country.
