Seal Hunting. The “ Southland News” learns from its Riverton correspondent that two boats belonging to that port have just returned from a three months’ sealing cruise on the West Coast. Baffling winds prevented them reaching the ground intended—Cascade Point—where the crews made certain of having great success ; still, their voyage has been the reverse of bootless, as they have brought back over 400 skins, which should give them such a return for their labor as will induce them to try again. Other two boats and crews belonging to the same “ fleet,” were left at Dusky Bay, working their way up the Cascade, where they counted on making a fine haul. Chinese Factory.— Steps are being taken to establish a Chinese factory at Milton, Otago. New Phase in the Tichbobne Case. —The Tichborne case has been dramatised and placed upon the stage by a Liverpool manager, under the title of “ Robert Richborne ; or the Disputed Title.” The play attracts large audiences. Very Encouraging.— The Heart of Oak claim, Bannockburn, Otago, a week or so ago, washed up sixty-five tons of stuff, with the splendid result of nearly two hundred and fifty ounces.
