Improvements in Greymouth. —A large number of new buildings are in course of erection in Grey mouth. From whatever cause the impetus to building has been given of late certain it is the alteration, extension, and improvement of premises rage, has fairly set in. In Tainui street alone, no less than three hotelkeepers have made and are making extensive additions to their present premises. Messrs Gilmer Brothers are remodelling their large corner house and building it again from the foundation with innumerable bedrooms, sittingrooms, &c., at what must be a great outlay. Mr llanney lias recently completed a second story to his hotel in the same street, and Mr Coutanche has commenced to follow suit. In the front street Mr O’Brien, bootmaker, is erecting entirely new premises on his old stand. In several of the side streets new cottages are in course of erection, and wings, lean-tos, verandahs and porches of one description or other are daily in course of advancement, which bespeaks for the town a stability and faith, among its people, in its future prosperity.
