Notes. —Pleasant N.W. weather up to the night of the 3rd, when it changed toS.E., and brought rain on the 4th ; on the sth cold S.W. weather with rain, hail, sleet, and frost at night; fine on 6th and 7th ; strong gals on night of Bth from N.W., with slight rain ; dull showery, and unpleasant on 9th, 10th, and 11th from N.W. —ITOO inch of rain recorded on the 11th ; pleasant on 12th ; on the 13th, splendid morning, wind N.W. up to 9 a.m., when it suddenly changed to S.W., with a squall of hail, rain, and sleet, and strong wind, very severe; squally from same quarter on the 14th, with hail and sleet; from 15th to 25th, very fine, bright and pleasant, and’at times warm winds from N.W. to S.E.; on the night of 26th, gale from N.W. with rain, very close. The remainder of the month dull, and slight showers, but pleasant; fprevailing wind for month from N.W.; max. temp, on the 21st 63 - 0; slight earthquake at 5 a.m. on 26th. R. B.
