ELECTORAL DISTRICTS OF MANAWATU, RANGITIKEI, AND WANGANUI. NOTICE is hereby given that Courts will be held for revising the list of voters for the Electoral District of Manawatu on Thursday, the Bth of June, 1871, at 11 o’clock in the forenoon, at the Resident Magistrate’s Court-house, Otaki. Eor Rangitikei, on Saturday, the 24th day of June, 1871, at 11 o’clock in the forenoon, at the Resident Magistrate’s Court-house, Rangitikei; and for Wanganui, on Wednesday, the 28th day of June, 1871, at 11 o’clock in the forenoon, at the Resident Magistrate’s Court-house, Wanganui, at which the claims of persons objected to will be determined. The names of persons proved to he dead will be expunged. The names of persons whose Christian name or place of abode, or the nature of whose qualification shall be wholly omitted, where by law required to be specified on the list, or 1 whose place of abode, or the nature or description of whose qualifications are insufficiently described for the purposes of being identified will be expunged, unless the matter so omitted or insufficiently described be supplied to the satisfaction of the Revising Officer, before he shall have completed the revision of such list of voters. IN compliance with recommendations contained in the Reports of the Flax Commission Committee, and of the Joint Committee on Colonial Industries, to the effect that “ premiums not exceeding in the whole £SOO should be granted for the encouragement of Sericiculture in the Colony,” and that the development of certain industrial pursuits would often be best promoted by the offer of a bonus on production, the following Rewards are offered, subject to the under-mentioned conditions : A bonus of 50 per cent, on the value realized is offered for the production of the first £IOOO worth of cocoons of the Silkworm or eggs of the Silkworm produced in the Colony, to be paid on quantities of not less value than £SO or more than £IOO produced by any one jerson. To any person or persons who shall manuacture, within the Colony, from New Zealand lax— . . For the first 500 reams of Printing Paper, a turn of £4OO ; and a fnrther sum of £250 for ;he first 500 reams of Packing Paper; and the ike sum for the Grst 10,000 yards of Scrim;loth suitable for covering flax bales. Conditions. The required quantify of each article to be ompleted before the 30th June, 1872. The weight of each ream of printing paper o be not less than 30 lbs., of each ream of tacking paper not less than 40 lbs., and of ach piece of scrim-cloth of 100 yards in ength and double width, not less than 30 lbs. The rewards will be paid on the certificate if an officer to be appointed by the Governnent that the above conditions have been somplied with. W. GISBORNE. Up to a certain amount, Assurance Policies bona fide effected by the Assured upon his own life, and Endowment Policies, and Annuities purchased for the benefit of Wife or Children, are exempted from the operation of Bankruptcy Acts, and from seizure under legal process. 2. Up to a certain amount, Married Women may effect Policies, and dispose of the money assured by will, as if single; and such policies are free from the debts and control of their husbands. 3. Insurances may be effected for the benefit of Wife and Children, with power to apportion amount; and such insurance is to be free from the claim of creditors, to the extent of £2OOO.
