Telegraph Commissioner is prepared to receive Tenders for the Supply and delivery of TWO THOUSAND (2000) TELEGRAPH POLES, to be delivered at the Telegraph Stores, Wellington. Tenders will be accepted for one thousand or the whole. The poles to be sawn from the heart of totnra. - ■<•'•'.. ■{ j The poles to be of the following dimensions :—Twenty-five (25) and twenty (20) feet long, to be eight (8) inches square at the butt, and six (6) inches square at the top. Five per cent of the number required will have to be 25 feet long. The poles to be sound, straight, and free from shakes, knots, and sap. N.B.—iV o pole will be accepted which contains the least sap or speckled Umber. Tenderers are to specify the price per pole as per sizes given, and the time that will be required for completing the contract. Each tender to be accompanied by a deposit of twenty-five pounds (£25) as a guarantee of good faith, which sum" will be forfeited by any tenderer should he refuse to take up his tender in the event of its being accepted. Each tender must include the names of two sureties for approval, who are willing to become bond for the due performance of the contract, in the event of the tender? being accepted, and must be accompanied by a notification to that effect, signed by the two proposed sureties. Blair,-Esq., Resident Engineer, Dunedjn, where tenders will be received until noon of MONDAY, the 7th AUGUST. The lowest or any tender will not necessarily be accepted.
