Australian horses seera to keep up their characters as winners in India and the East. At the Hong Kong races, which took place on the Ist March, the best prizes were carried off by two Australian bred horses. North Australian, a horse hailing from Queensland, won the Portuguese Cup, a mile and a quarter, the first day, carrying list. The second day he won the Challenge Cup, two miles, value £SOO guineas, carrying 10st. 111 b.; and on the third day he ran second in the Fakei Cup. Birmingham, another Australian horse, won the Hong Kong Cup, one mile and a half, carrying 10st 41b, value £IOO, and the Fakei Cup, two miles and a half, carrying list.
