NOTICE TO EMPLOYERS OF LABORProvincial Secretary’s Office, Wellington, January 19th, 1871. AS some sixty families of pioneer emigrants from Norway, Sweden, and Denmark, are expected to arrive daring the months of January, February and March, consisting of the foliowing occupations, viz : Agricultural and other laborers Carpenters Machinists Blacksmiths Cattle drivers and tenders Brokers and millers Tailors The first instalment is expected from Norway in the Celceno this month, and consist of eighteen men with wives and families of two children. The heads of families vary in age from twenty to thirty-five years, and are described as active, steady, industrious, and accustomed to hard labor. Parties desirous of employing any of the above are requested to make application to the Provincial Secretary, Wellington, stating terms on which they are .willing to engage them.
Government Annuities Office, Wellington, Ist December, 187 b. OTICE is hereby given that Government JLI Insurance and Annuities Offices, under “The Government Annuities Act, 1869,” and “The New Zealand Government Insurance and Annuities Act, 1870,” have been opened at WELLINGTON, WANGANUI, GREYTOWN, and all the principal Money Order Offices in the Colony. The following advantages are secured by special provisions in the above-mentoined Acts : 1. Up to a certain amount, Assurance Policies bona fide effected by the Assured upon his own life, and Endowment Policies, and Annuities purchased for the benefit of Wife or Children, are exempted from the operation of Bankruptcy Acts, and from seizure under legal process. 2. Up to a certain amount, Married Women may eifect Policies, and dispose of the money assured by will, as if single; and such policies are free from the debts and control of-their husbands. 3. Insurances may be effected for the benefit of Wife and Children, with power to apportion amount; and such insurance is ro be free from the claim of creditors, to the extent of £2OOO. All persons wishing to obtain Life Insurances, Endowments, Annuities, immediate or deferred, or other advantages under the Acts, will receive every in formation and the necessary forms on application at any of the abovenamed offices.
