Forty Mile Bush.— Seventeen laborers, says the "H.B. Herald,” arrived per. Lord Ashly, to be employed on the roads in the Forty Mile Bush, they left yesterday morning for their destinhtion, Good News ip True.— The Auckland “ Star” says that a statement has been made by John Cash, before the Provincial Council of Auckland, that he obtained, while prospecting on the West Coast of the Island, as much as one and two ounces of gold to the dish. Building Stone.— lt appears from the Auckland’papers that a very valuable building Btone has been discovered at Waipu. It is a freestone, of a reddish drab color, and. admits of being dressed to a fine clean hard edge. As the locality is said to be within easy reach of water carriage, the discovery is looked on as somewhat important, as the stone could be brought into Auckland very cheaply.
