(to THE EDITOR OE THE NEW ZEALAND MAIL.) gj Ej —It is most important that flax-dressers should be disabused of the belief that they have a peculiar difficulty with which to contend. The fact is that the gum difficulty is common to all similar fibres. I cannot get out of my head that the refuse from flax dressing! of which horses are said to be fond, and which I have found to he most useful in supplying' heat to a hot bed, could be applied beneficially in softening flax and removing gum, on the principle of taking a hair of the dog that bit you. —I am, &c, , R-
