RAGLAN INTERESTS

FAREWELLS TO RESIDENTS A farewell alternoon was held by Mrs. A. Edwards and Mrs. W. Petchall for Mrs. A. Christiansen, prior to the hitter's departure for Hamilton. Alter tea had been served Airs. Petchall presented the guest ol honour with a gift from her friends in Raglan. A presentation of a crystal salad bowl was made to Mrs. W. G. Vernon by members of the Te Mata branch of the Women's Division of the Farmers' Union, prior to her departure from To Mata lor Raglan. She was also elected a life member of the branch. The president, Miss C. McCracken, made the presentation. A large number of residents also met in the Te Mata Hall to farewell Mr. and Mrs. Vernon and their family. Mr. Vernon is a prominent member of local bodies and is a justice of peace. A presentation was made by the chairman, -Mr. J. L. Martyn, on behalf of the residents, of a handsome chiming clock.
