RAGLAN INTERESTS

ALL BLACK WELCOMED A welcome homo dance was tendered to Mr. W. J. Phillips, the All Black footballer, in the Te Mata Hall, when a large number of residents assembled to do honour to the district's representative in the New Zealand Rugby team which recently returned from Australia. Mr. L. C. Hird. representing Raglan Football Club, and Mr. F. Gibbison, representing kindred sports bodies, both eonve\ed congratulations to the fjnesfc of honour, while .Mr. W. G. Vernon, on behalf of the residents of the district, extended a welcome home, and presented Mr. Phillips with a solid leather suitcase. Mr. Phillips returned thanks for the gift and the cordial welcome home. Supper was later served by the ladies of the district.
