new season approaches ANNUAL MEETINGS HELD AUCKLAND CLUB'S OFFICERS Mr. W. E. Holdgnte presided over the annual mooting of the Auckland Lawn Tennis Club, when a successful past season was reported. The following officers were elected:—President, Mr. W. E. Holdgate; vice-presidents, Messrs. Ernest Davis, R. S. Burt, A. R. Hosking, A. Coppard, F. N. Ambler; hon. secretary, Mr. J. A. Fernandez; hon. treasurer, Mr. A. Briggs; grofind superintendent, Mr. J. A. Fernandez; hon. auditor, Mr. A, Simmonds; delegates to Auckland Association, Messrs. J. A. Ferandez, A. B. Ellis, Mesdames Israel, Biggs. The following trophies were presented:— Ladies' championship singles. Mies R. .Tunes; men's championship singles, Mr. L. G. Whittaker; ladies' championship doubles, Miso R. janws and Mrs. Biggs; men's championship doubles, Mr. L. G-. Whittaker and Mr. R. fl. Burt; ladies' handicap singles. Miss M. McLennan: men's handicap singles, Mr. A, B. Crouch; men's handicap doubles, Mr. J. D, Prim® and Mr. J. L, Johnston; ladies' handicap doubles, Miss 8. Whittakor ond Miss H. Bathgate; mixed doubles, Misa n. Bathgate and Mr. L. G. Whittaker: Mr. A. R. Hoskinq's cup for the winner of the men's championship singles was won by Mr. L G. Whittaker: cups presented by Mr. R. S. Burt for the two most improved players, Mr. A. B. Crouch, Mr. Owen Sat- - NGATARINGA CLUB The good prospects for a successful season were stressed at the annual meeting of the Ngat&ring* Tennis Club. OPENING AT TUAKAU [from our own correspondent]
TUAKAU. Saturday
The Tuakatt Tsnnis Club's courts were officially opened for the season to-day. In declaring the courts open, the president, Mr. G. Arrowsmith, said that the courts were in particularly fine condition and that prospects for the corom? season were much brighter than they had been at this time last year. The first ball was played by Msss M. Arrowsmith.

PUKEKOHE, Saturday
The ofßoial opening of the Pukekohe East Tennis Club's courts to-day was favoured by ideal weather. Many visitors were present from surrounding clubs, including Bombay. Auckland. West End Hill and Pukekohe. The opening ceremony was performed by the president, Mr. E. A. Mahoney, the first ball being played by his daughter. Miss F. Mahoney.

Thure was a large attendance at the official opening of tfo© Mnirtown Tennis Clnb, held yesterday afternoon. Mr. K. G. M. Kelly, in the absence of the, patron, Mr. H. C, Rishworth, welcomed the visitors and declared the season open. He presented trophies won last season, the championship events being as follows:—Ladies' singles, Mrs. Saul: men's singles. Mr. 0, R. Morgan: ladies' doubles. Misses R. Tibbits and K Burch: men's doubles, Messrs. O. K. Morgun and G. Nicholls; combined doubles, O. R. Morgan and Miss R. Tibbit«. A progressive tournament was won DT Mrs. G. Morrison and C. Waymouth.
