The teams veTQ c venlv matched, the result being cecided only in the Inst few minutes. Elolid play l >>' tho Technical vanguard tave the backs a liberal supply of the ball, and this advantage, combined irith excellent service behind the gcrum bv Aro, paved the way "for Turlott, the eentre-threequarter, to score ihe deciding try. With sewn minutes 1:0 play and from a sot scrum in midfield Technical cleanly hooked tho bs 11 and Aro uent his backs away. The ball risached Turcot t and with a dazzling swerve the centre t ileft his opponent standing. At fnil epeed .fie pivoted''infield, caught the fullback on the wrong foot, and outpneed thi? opposition to touch down between tho posts. Murdoch kicked a simple goal. Following the kick-off Technical played rith" renewed vigour, and Univsrsitys task appeared hopeless. Frequently the fast Technical forwards broke away and tbeir dribbling Tushes were difficult to 'stop, rhe accurate manner in which they handled also had the defence baffled. Added to this, the Technical backs hud better penetration, their straight running and clean handling being features of th<V play. Following a quick heel from a set ecrum Technical was unlucky in not scoring again.
