NEW TASK FOR POLICE
A defendant in tlio Magistrate's Court in Wellington complained that a dog's barking had prevented her sleeping at night, but said it had been far quieter since she had gone to the police. Sub-Inspector Roach: Do you think that the police could stop a dog from barking?
The Defendant: I suppose they could if they took it to the Supreme Court. The Court laughed, and Mr. E. D. Mosley, S.M., remarked that that was a new function for tho police.
